The Sony Alpha a7R IV, the fourth iteration in the a7R series, takes image quality to new heights with its advanced 61MP Exmor R BSI CMOS sensor and improved BIONZ X image processor. This full-frame camera stands out for its exceptional stills and video capabilities and versatility. It delivers strikingly smooth images, a dynamic range of 15 stops, and of course, remarkable speed.
The camera is capable of shooting at a speed of up to 10 frames per second and can record UHD 4K30 video. Both these features are supported by Real-time Eye AF and Tracking AF technologies. The updated sensor design incorporates a Fast Hybrid AF System with 567 phase-detection autofocus points, ensuring quick and precise focus. Despite its high resolution, the sensor is notable for its adaptable native sensitivity range from ISO 100-32000, making it suitable for various lighting conditions.
In addition to its imaging capabilities, the a7R IV has been upgraded with a more durable design that includes enhanced weather sealing for use in particularly harsh weather conditions. The OLED electronic viewfinder now boasts an impressive 5.76m-dot resolution, providing clear viewing. The 3.0″ rear tilting touchscreen LCD, with a high 1.44m-dot resolution, offers sharp playback, live view shooting, and easy navigation of the menu.
